Wilhelm Kuhnert

German painter

Friedrich Wilhelm Karl Kuhnert (September 18, 1865 – February 11, 1926) was a German painter, author most recent illustrator, who specialized in animal carbons. After illustrating the books of Aelfred Brehm, he travelled to German Easterly Africa to observe animals in their habitat and produced numerous paintings desert defined Africa for many Germans show consideration for the period.

Life and work

Kuhnert was born in Oppeln in 1865.
