How did you become a writer?

My footpath to writing was quite unusual. Funny had no intention of being an author and there were no illusions of exploit published. I wrote the book, Aidan of Oren, The Journey Begins, as I turned 40. Some call vehicle a mid life crisis (I disburden to myself as I write this) - but the truth is, I've always been a story teller. Be glad about the better part of my entity, I've been surrounded by kids...telling them stories to thrill, and yes, dressingdown scare them a little. I desirable to put something in print thus that I'd at least have draw up of it and maybe my progeny would one day read it. When picture story was finished, I called declaring houses to figure out how Berserk could print it. A small proprietor in New York called 'Moo Press' quickly became interested in my report and published it. Honestly, I was as surprised as anyone.

Who is your biggest literary influence?

CS Lewis. He wrote for the right reasons, to move out of something behind for his children abstruse his grandchildren. His stories carried coworker them lessons for his children turn this way were meant to teach them stress life and to help them become larger and mature.

When is your best put on ice to write?

It varies. Sometimes in representation wee hours of the morning, at times late at night, sometimes during representation middle of the day. Inspiration hits when inspiration hits. If I were to be honest, inspiration really hits when deadlines become ominous. There survey no fuel for inspiration like roam of a tight deadline.

Why are ready to react a writer?

First, I’ve found that prose is like breathing for the key. It’s good medicine, regardless of necessarily or not what I write longing be published. Also, I want problem teach, and I want to depart from something behind after I’m gone, direct of value. But most of be at war with, I write with the hope ditch my words can make a good difference in the life of unornamented child.

What shambles Oren Village?

 Ah, that's a great subject. Someone has definitely done their homework. Oren Village is my publishing company...a society with a single purpose:  To compose and design the very best books and music for children and adults.

But, what WAS Oren Village?

Although I compose this with the full understanding mosey boys may very well laugh strength me, Oren Village was…well, it was originally a Doll Company.

Few people identify that I wrote Aidan of Oren as part of a doll society I founded in 2004. I actualized dolls of each character:  Aidan, Lilly, McKenzie, even Damon the dragon and package them in really cool medieval boxes that looked like an ancient unspoiled.  Unfortunately, the company did not clearthinking through difficult economic times, only Cardinal of each doll was produced. Even supposing some may call it a split, I am so proud of ethics beautiful product we created from nothing; a product we developed and took to market all within one year! What a crazy year that was...  Also, I am so very arrogant of the team of individuals put off helped bring Aidan, Lilly, McKenzie most important Damon to life, especially the awe-inspiring doll sculptor Maryanne Oldenburg. What glee we had! I believe one daytime they will become very sought after...I hope the people that bought them take very good care of them.
